julian's children

R.I.P

Fanny has played an important role in Julian's public and private life.
She shot to fame in 1988 on Julian's first TV appearance as The Joan Collins Fan Club.  She had already been a faithful companion to Julian for some years, since he discovered her at a re-homing centre for stray and unwanted dogs.  Julian says:  "As soon as I saw her, I knew I had to take her home.  I'd wandered into Battersea Dogs Home and there she was.  She was desperate.  Her eyes said 'Take me out of here' "

Fanny took to showbiz life like a duck to water - she was a natural.
She accompanied Julian on tour and would often attend television interviews alongside him.  She soon developed her own fan base, and even had her own production company 'Wonderdog Productions'.  She was soon commanding huge fees for cameo roles in comedy classics such as 'Terry & Julian' and  'All Rise'.  She appeared on the record sleeve of Julian's first single 'Leader of the Pack' and featured extensively in Julian's two books 'My life with Fanny the Wonderdog' and 'How to be a Real Man'.

She spent her twilight years residing with Julian's parents in Swindon, where she soldiered on and retained her dignity until the bitter end.

She sadly passed away, at the grand old age of 19, a few days after Julian's 40th birthday.  Her ashes remain in a box placed on a shelf on the stairs in Julian's London home, so he thinks of her whenever he passes them.  Fanny packed a lot into her nineteen years and Julian was devoted to her.

She will be sadly missed.
